This beautiful woman is my best friend and she's also one of my favorite heads of hair. Her hair grows like a weed and her awesome cheekbones lend themselves to many face-framing styles. We swept her hair up in an elegant chignon for her wedding and a soft angled lob ("long bob") is easy and classy for this busy working mom.

Beth is a vivacious, generous actress in NYC and when I first started coloring and cutting her hair she requested bright, sunny, blonde hair. As you can see, this matches the sunlight that emanates out of her! We also played around with strawberry blonde and copper hues, which was so much fun.

MAKEOVER! I met this beauty here in Phoenix and her warm smile lit up my heart. As I talked with her I imagined these bangs and ombré hair color and when I suggested them to her she pulled up a picture on her phone of the same hairstyle I was envisioning! Doing her hair made me happy, but it was even more wonderful to see how happy this hairstyle made her! If I could afford a billboard on the 202 I would plaster a giant image of her with my phone number beneath and be set for life!

MAKEOVER! This sweet Phoenix mom of 5 beautiful children invited me into their home for family haircuts. As I cut and braided her children's hair, the family played a lively board game together and I quietly tucked away tons of "mom tips" as I listened to how she interacted with her children. I love cutting curly hair, and she had been letting her beautiful graying hair grow out after Covid, so I made some simple adjustments to her haircut and her curls sprang back to life!

MAKEOVER! Manami was one of my very last clients in NYC before I had to shut down business for a few months during Covid. We painted beautiful caramel ombré highlights into her shoulder length bob and throughout the pandemic I would occasionally see how pretty they looked when we were on a zoom meeting together. (Manami is one of my ministers at church.) But by 2021 those highlights were bedraggled and brassy. She requested a short bob with chocolate highlights and we both found it very cleansing to cut off all that overgrown hair and refresh her color.

MAKEOVER! This lovely Phoenix beauty wanted to embrace her natural hair texture and give life to her curls. I did too! Lopping off a few inches, adding curl-friendly layers and styling with just the right tools and products made all the difference!

FORMAL

I love formal styling. It is such a privilege to be present at monumental events like proms and weddings (these 2 pictures, respectively). I love to make updos really special, with lots of texture and interesting shapes (like the prom-goer in the first picture) and soft boho hair is always so fun and romantic (like the bride in the second picture.) Both of these styles were the result of a trial run, where we met a few weeks before the event and spent about an hour trying out different ideas.

MEN

I love cutting men's hair, and especially these two men! They are my husband and my son and they have awesome hair! I use a "scissor-over-comb" technique on short hair, rather than a buzzer, to create natural contours and fading.
